Regularly irregular….

.and so the day finally arrived, when I wore Black!! The day of the convocation.   The final culmination of 3 years of labour. The day when I got rewarded for endless hours of toil. The moment when I felt nothing bu tpure joy, for a job well done. 4th March, 2006.

I wonder what hurts more….

The shock of a loved one passing away unexpectedly, or the helplessness of seeing one wither away and die??

Aparthied still exists. And I am talking about India.

It’s amazing the way we Indians are obsessed with the colour of our skin. Everyone these days is looking for creams, lotions and the likes to achieve fairness.

And to think there used to be times, when we thought selling fairness creams was a silly idea. When we used to make fun of those gori,fair and beautiful inserts in matrimonial ads.

No siree..women AND men of all ages are yearning to look fair and lovely(or handsome) these days.

And I got a recent example of this ridiculousness a few days ago, when a friend of mine was “rejected” by a prospective girl’s family, solely because oif the shade of his skin. I mean, come on, is that the be-all and end-all of life? Fair sons-or-daughters-in-law, and hence fair grandchildren?

What is this..a new concept of selective breeding?

We’ve got to stop giving such importance to trivial things, and realize beauty isn’t skin deep. Isn’t what inside that should really count?

After a gap of half a year, I return…

Though how frequent will be my trips here, is something I cannot be sure about.

But as I said, the lure to retrun was too strong.

so all I can say now is, Aloha!! it feels nice to be back.
